Philippines job market faces hiring fraud risk, credit agency warns (manilastandard)

CIBI Information Inc., a credit reporting agency, has warned that fraudulent job applications are a growing risk in the Philippine job market, which is currently experiencing a period of optimism and expansion.

“While the job market in the Philippines continues to thrive, so does the risk of encountering fraudulent applications,” said Ivy Ramirez, CIBI vice president for service and industrials. “Falsifying credentials is a deception that directly affects a business,” she said.

Ramirez said fraudulent activity could have a wider impact, potentially undermining productivity, eroding workplace trust and damaging a company’s reputation. “Proactive verification is an essential step to protect both businesses and the integrity of the workforce,” she said.
